To someone who experiences a loss of a loved one to suicide, there can be no greater grief. It is estimated that for every completed suicide, there are at least six devastated survivors left behind in its wake.
The stigma of suicide and the painful emotions it engenders can leave survivors feeling isolated at a time when they need the support of others. Talking with others who have similar experiences can be an important part of healing after a suicide.
Providing a safe place for survivors to support one another as they deal with the painful questions and feelings that follow a suicide, The Lorain/Elyria Survivors of Suicide Support Group is part of a range of services provided by the Lorain County Suicide Prevention Coalition and The Nord Center LOSS Team.
The Lorain/Elyria Survivors of Suicide Support Group meets the 2nd & 4th Mondays of every month from 6:30-8:00 pm at the Amy Levin Conference Center, 1165 North Ridge Rd, Lorain OH.
