The Nord Center can no longer accept donations of clothing or furniture.
Child & Adult Mental Health Service Needs:
- Magazines with labels removed, child-appropriate
- Art and craft supplies
- Items addressing the 5 senses (sound, taste, sight, touch & smell) such as relaxation CD’s, hard candy, scented markers, no-wick scented candles
- New toys for the waiting room
Art Therapy Needs:
- Acrylic paints
- Canvases
- Drawing and sketching pencils
- Large drawing paper
- Marker sets
- Palette paper (sheets that look like an artist palette, which can be reusable for paint)
- Suminagashi ink
- Watercolor paper
Sexual Assault Services Needs:
- Mini tins of playdough
- DVDs rated G and PG
- Unopened sample-sized bath and body products
- Pre-packaged snack foods including juice boxes
- Toothbrushes and toothpaste
- New active wear and sweats: pull-on pants, sweatshirts and t-shirts
- New children’s pajamas
- Fidget toys
- Blank journals
- New, soft, throws or small blankets
Housing Services Needs:
- Board games
- McDonald’s Gift Cards
- Movies (DVDs)
- Movie tickets
- Nail polish
- New Adult socks
- Art supplies
- Books
- Decks of cards
- Magazines with the labels removed
- New sweatpants and sweatshirts of all sizes (M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL) (you can donate these through our Wish List on Amazon)
- Phone chargers
- Phone cords
- Puzzles
Day Treatment Needs:
- Educational videos on Anger Management and Mental Health Illness
Donations may be dropped off at The Nord Center’s 6140 S Broadway Lorain OH 44053 location between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. Please specify the program for which your in-kind gift is intended so we can ensure it gets to the proper location. Cash donations as well as gift certificates, such as for McDonald’s, Giant Eagle, Target and Walmart, are always welcome. If writing a check, please make payable to The Nord Center.
