NEW: Exploring Recovery is for those 18 years old and older who are interested in exploring paths to recovery from alcohol and drug use. The group will focus on a variety of topics including: what is chemical dependency; how to stop drinking or using drugs; what are AA, HA, and NA; and relapse prevention.

Presented in a non-confrontational, supportive environment, Exploring Recovery is for anyone who wants to learn more about the recovery process; what a sober life might look like; and more about chemical dependency. Current active recovery or sobriety is not a requirement for group participation. However, for your safety and the safety of others, you are asked to refrain from drinking alcohol or using other substances before the group meeting.

For more information, please contact Whitney Oliver at 440.204.4281 or email WOliver@nordcenter.org.

For over 65 years, The Nord Center has been part of the recovery process for people with mental illness. In 2005, The Nord Center began to offer services to people with addictions to drugs and alcohol. From the initial assessment through discharge to aftercare, every effort is focused on providing clients the greatest opportunity, and widest assortment of tools and support for long-term recovery. Our programs and services are designed to reflect evidence-based best practices in the field of substance abuse treatment.

Addiction Services are provided to both adolescents and adults, including assessments, individual counseling, pre-treatment engagement groups, intensive out-patient group counseling, family and aftercare sessions and/or referrals. The Nord Center does not provide detox or inpatient addiction services.

Innovative therapeutic programs are also available that are designed to provide integrated (mental health and chemical dependency) approaches and recovery-driven services for individuals suffering from co-existing substance abuse and mental illness. Services may include assessments, individual counseling, pre-treatment engagement groups, intensive out-patient group counseling, family and aftercare sessions and/or referrals. Addiction Services are provided to both adolescents and adults.

To start services, call our Intake Line at 440.204.4161 Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. All voice mails will be returned as soon as possible to schedule routine requests for services.
