Volunteer

When we give of our time, we give our most precious of possessions. But when we donate that time - those hours and days - in the service of others, we are made all the richer. Richer in outlook. Richer in spirit.

Volunteering at The Nord Center means giving another your belief in yourself - and that's a gift that can transform lives. Theirs. Yours.

The effort of every Nord volunteer, no matter what it is, from filing, to talking to a friend, to helping another see a new way of living, is doubled and tripled in value. Each act of volunteering contributes to a community of recovery envisioned with the start of The Nord Center in 1947. The dollar saved by a Nord volunteer goes directly to help another Nord consumer, and while that dollar may be "invisible", the job and sense of accomplishment a volunteer feels is clearly inspiring.

There are many ways to volunteer. There are different days and different hours to choose from. What's constant, what doesn't change, is that special sense of well-being that comes from the act of volunteering itself.
